Day 1, Athens
You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner in a traditional Greek tavern in Plaka, the old part of Athens and savor the flavorful dishes this country is famous for. Overnight in Athens (D)

Day 2, Athens
See most exciting parts of Athens this morning on a sightseeing tour. This cosmopolitan and bustling capital city is set amidst reminders of a long and glorious past filled with graceful temples, centuries-old monasteries, and ornate Byzantine churches. Visit the immortal Acropolis, perched on a hill overlooking the city. Also visit the Parthenon, and the Erectheion with the Porch of the Maidens. Make a stop at the Temple of Athena Nike and the Wingless Victory. Below the Acropolis, visit the ancient Agora and the Theaters of Dionysus and Herodus Atticus which will make you wonder how these marvels have stood the test of time. Your afternoon and evening are free. Visit the Olympic Stadium or the National Archaeological Museum. Or do some shopping at the Agora-Athens Central Market. For dinner try some traditional Greek dinner of Mezes and don’t forget the ouzo afterwards! Overnight in Athens. (B)

Day 3, Athens/Delphi/Kalambaka
Your first stop this morning is Delphi, the city where the most famous Greek oracle foretold the destiny of men. The Temple of Apollo, in which the oracle functioned, was built in the 6th century B.C. Another legend depicts the journey Apollo made to Delphi to gather laurel to give to winners of the Pythian Games. You will also see the Sacred Way, the Stadium and the Castilian Fountain, where pilgrims cleansed themselves in preparation for consulting the oracle. Visit the Archaeological Museum of Delphi, which contains an impressive collection of finds from the site, including the beautiful "Bronze Charioteer", before continuing on to Kalambaka. Day 4, Kalmbaka/Ohrid
After breakfast, admire the fantastic landscapes of Meteora, known as "the rocks that fell from the sky". These are now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here monks built monasteries on top of rock formations, far away from civilization. Of the 13 large and 20 small monasteries and hermit's cells, only 4 are now active. The most important is Megalo or Great Meteoro. This one is particularly interesting because it has a tall and intricate dome, 12 sides and intricate frescoes. After marveling at these creations continue across the border to Macedonia, and on to Ohrid. Overnight in Ohrid. (B, D)

Day 5, Ohrid/Tirana
The lakeside resort of Ohrid is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site because of its cultural and historical importance. Start your morning sightseeing tour with a walk through the cobblestone streets of the old town. Visit the Cathedral of St. Sofia, containing some magnificent frescoes from the 10th century and art from the middle ages. It was built during the First Bulgarian Empire after the country was officially converted to Christianity. However it was later converted into a mosque under the rule of the Ottomans. In the early afternoon, travel to Tirana, the capital of Albania. Overnight in Tirana. (B, D)

Day 6, Tirana
Tirana has been continuously inhabited since antiquity. Today you will experience the history on your tour by visiting Skanderbeg Square named after “Lord Alexander” of the 15th century. Next visit the Mosque of Et'hem Bey, the Clock Tower, and the statue of G.K. Skanderbeg, Albania's national hero. Continue on to the Palace of Culture, built with Soviet assistance; and the National History Museum, with a mosaic on its facade portraying Albanian history. Your afternoon is free to continue exploring on your own, shop, or just relax. Or to soak up the city’s culture visit the National Art Gallery or National Historic Museum. Be sure to try some of the local favorites for dinner. Overnight in Tirana. (B)

Day 7, Tirana/Skhodra/Dubrovnik
After breakfast, depart Tirana and travel to the town of Shkodra, a cultural center and one of Albania's oldest cities. See the ruins of Rozafa Castle, set on a hill high above the city and learn about the castle’s painful legend. Then cross the border into Montenegro and on to Croatia and beautiful Dubrovnik. Overnight in Dubrovnik. (B, D)

Day 8, Dubrovnik
Today you will tour the magnificent city of Dubrovnik. Begin with a walking tour of "Old Dubrovnik". Visit Rector's Palace, the Bell Tower Clock and Sponza Palace which now houses the state archives including manuscripts dating back a thousand years. Marvel at Orlando's Column which was built to commemorate Croatian independence from the Venetians. Continue to the famous Dominican Monastery and Franciscan Monastery and visit its Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. The rest of the day is at leisure in Dubrovnik. Wander around the city and walk down the Stradun, the longest and widest street in the city and enjoy the wonderful shopping this city has to offer. Overnight in Dubrovnik. (B)

Day 9, Dubrovnik
Your final day of the tour is at leisure. Choose to stay in Dubrovnik and walk around the city walls built in the XII and XIV century. Or visit the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin, a VII century basilica supposedly a gift from King Richard I of England after being saved from a shipwreck on the island of Lokrum. Or take a day trip to the ancient city of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Discover a city where east meets west which was developed under Turkish rule as an important trade center. However you choose to spend your day you will enjoy the history and culture of a beautiful city. Overnight in Dubrovnik. (B)
Day 10, Dubrovnik
After breakfast you will be transferred to Dubrovnik airport for your flight home.
