The Best of the Adriatic is a vacation package that starts in Venice and visits some of the most beautiful locations along the Adriatic coast such as Rovinj, Pula, Motovun, Plitvice Lakes, Split, Dubrovnik and the island of Korčula. Explore these charming towns, hike around the lakes, enjoy local food and wine, relax on the beach and stroll the galleries, markets, boutique shops and admire the unforgettable views of the Adriatic.


Day 1: Arrive Venice

Arrival to Venice airport followed by transfer to your hotel. People see it as the world’s most romantic city, a delightful maze of fine palaces, monumental churches, galleries stuffed with amazing works and excellent restaurants – not to mention the key attraction, the canals that confront you at every turn, and make getting lost in Venice such an enjoyable experience. There are no cars or roadways, just canals and boats. Overnight in Venice.

Day 2: Venice

Enjoy the highlights of Venice walking tour with exclusive access to the upper levels of St. Mark’s Basilica from where you can enjoy the mosaics from up close!

Our walking tour is a head-spinning journey past some of the best known sights of Venice along with some unassuming gems. The first stop will be in one of those highlights, the Rialto Bridge. We will proceed passing by Marco Polo’s house and hearing about the Venetian son who went to sea one day and came back with stories of China and a world in the East that few had ever seen. We will see lively Campo San Luca and Campo San Giovanni Paolo where locals carry out their daily lives in the shadow of spectacular architecture. Just as we started with a pop we will end our tour with a bang visiting Piazza San Marco. We will stand in front of the impressive Doge’s Palace where Venice famous lover and writer, Casanova was held in an attic prison before he managed to escape. Then it’s on to the main event- the stunning Basilica of San Marco. Here you will hear about how St Mark’s remains arrived here illegally and see all sorts of treasures, molded in this very city or plundered during the crusades. We will visit the second level of the Basilica for views over the Piazza below where string quartets play and waiters bustle around piazza-side-cafe. Overnight in Venice.

Day 3: Venice/Rovinj

Transfer to Rovinj and the rest of day at leisure. Rovinj is considered to be one of the most beautiful towns on the Croatian coast because of its unique appearance and its wonderful natural surroundings. It developed in the tradition of a small fishing town under the watchful eye of its patron saint, Sv. Eufemija (St. Euphemia), with a distinctive form of boat, the batana, and the recognizable bitinada songs. Its beauty is especially valued by artists who painted the most beautiful motifs of this town and exhibited them in Grisija – the street of artists. Overnight in Rovinj.

Day 4: Rovinj

Enjoy a private tour of Istrian Peninsula starting with the walking tour of Rovinj. Admire its incredible setting with centuries old red-roofed houses clustered around the hill of a former island. Stroll its narrow streets and explore local neighborhoods, art galleries, museums, architectural landmarks, outdoor markets and specialty shops. Stop for lunch at any of the nearby restaurants and taste delicious Istrian specialties. Continue exploring the Istrian Peninsula with rolling hills and vineyards, the region so reminiscent of Tuscany. You will love the charming town of Motovun surrounded with a medieval wall on top of a steep hill. Walk around the fortifications and delight in the stunning views of the vineyards in the valley. There is no better way to relish the Istrian Peninsula than to lunch at one of the many superb restaurants in this region. Overnight at in Rovinj.

Day 5: Rovinj/Plitvice

Travel along the coastline for most of the way to the astonishing Plitvice Lakes National Park. Between Mala Kapela and Plješivica, in the area where the river Korana has its source, there are 16 large and a lot of small lakes which are connected by small, medium and large waterfalls after which the river Korana continues its journey. Break for lunch for a bite of local specialty such as wild trout with famous potatoes from Lika region. Overnight in Plitvice.

Day 6: Plitvice/Split

Spend this day at leisure on a nearby beach, afternoon espresso, ice cream and shopping for souvenirs. No other place has two cities with monumental heritage under UNESCO’s protection registered in the World Cultural Heritage within just 30 km like Central Dalmatia does. They are the Diocletian Palace in Split and the historical core of the town of Trogir. Salona, the former center of the Roman province of Dalmatia, is situated between them. Overnight in Split.

Day 7: Split/Vis/Hvar/Split

Take a full day boat trip to Vis, the island of fishermen and winegrowers, and one of the smallest and most peaceful and secluded inhabited islands on the Croatian coast. Vis served as a military naval base during Yugoslavia and reopened to visitors in 1989. Beautiful beaches, preserved nature, ecological agriculture and preserved traditional architecture are unique advantages of this unique island. Enjoy the time at Vis speed where sometimes the only sound is made by the wind and sea and later in a day by few elderly locals lined up on the benches if front of their homes eagerly watching “strange” island visitors. As you return back to Split, the boat will make a stop on the island of Hvar so you, too, get to witness yourself why everyone talks about Hvar. Overnight  in Split.

Day 8: Split/Dubrovnik

Start exploring this enchanting city with a private walking tour of Dubrovnik Old Town and its museums, architectural landmarks, outdoor market and local specialty shops. We are sure that you want miss any of the surprisingly interesting sights: a pharmacy that’s been open for business since the middle Ages, Europe’s second-oldest synagogue, art churches and mansions with beautiful art, and museums devoted to the local folk life and seafaring culture. Stroll thought Stradun, the famous main street, enjoy its fine boutique shops, local candy shops, stop at any of the swank restaurants and enjoy lunch or dinner of delicious seafood or local meat or pasta specialty. Overnight  in Dubrovnik.

Day 9: Dubrovnik/Korčula/Dubrovnik

After departure from Dubrovnik we take a short break on the Dubrovnik Bridge for a scenic view of the town. We drive along Adriatic coast to the town of Ston where you will hear about various points of interest which we will see on your way there.

At Ston there will be sightseeing and free time. Ston is famous for its old salt flats and the second longest city walls in the world (after the Chinese walls). After sightseeing free time. We continue towards Orebić. Along the way, there is panoramic scenery of the famous vineyards of Pelješac peninsula, beautiful countryside and old settlements, accompanied by discussion on wineries of Pelješac and mussels breeding. In Orebić we board the boat to Korčula.

Korčula sightseeing includes a visit to the birthplace of Marco Polo and free time. The island of Korčula presents a unique contact with the beautiful nature, and a thousand year old cultural tradition and history. You will have an opportunity to visit the birth house of Marco Polo, the church of St. Marco and many other monuments. We return back to Orebić by boat, then drive to Potomje.

On arrival to Potomje we visit one of the most famous Croatian winery. We will participate in wine tasting of famous sorts of wine, domestic brandy, and liqueurs, accompanied by a wine expert from the winery. We will return back to Dubrovnik in the afternoon. Overnight  in Dubrovnik.

Day 10: Dubrovnik

Private transfer from the hotel to Split airport.

Lone is a hotel that nurtures the concept of interesting and functional spatial design. In addition to the hotel architecture, designed by the studio 3LHD, virtually all the interior design elements were created especially for Lone. The furniture was designed by Grupa Numen/For Use, the textile décor by the I-GLE studio, the artistic installations in the hotel are works by artists Ivana Franke and Silvio Vujičić, and the hotel’s visual identity was created by the agency Bruketa & Žinić OM.
