Enjoy the eternal city of Rome, the bustling center of Italy where ancient treasures lurk around every corner. Day 1: Venice

Upon arrival at Venice Airport, transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight. Overnight in Venice. (D)



Day 2: Venice

The day begins with a tour of Venice. You will be able to see the Doge’s Palace and view the Bell Tower and Bridge of Sighs.  You can feed the pigeons in St. Mark’s Square and visit the famous St. Mark’s Basilica. Enjoy a unique visit to a glass blowing factory where you will see the demonstration of traditional Venetian glass blowing. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy Venice at your own pace.  Check out the shops on the Ponte Rialto bridge or experience a once in a lifetime gondola ride and travel through the canals of Venice while being serenaded. Overnight in Venice. Day 3: Venice/Pisa/Florence

Drive to Ferrara, a renaissance gem in the Emilia-Romagna region standing on the banks of the Po River. Orientation tour of Ferrarra with your Tour Director. Continue to Pisa to view the famous Piazza del Miracoli with its Leaning Tower, the Baptistery and Duomo and be sure to take plenty of photos! End your day with dinner in Florence.  Overnight in Florence. (B & D)


Day 4: Florence

Today begins with a city tour starting in front of the majestic Piazza del Duomo to see the Cathedral crowned by Brunelleschi’s Dome, the Giotto’s Bell Tower, and the Baptistery with Ghiberti’s bronze “Gate of Paradise”. Then visit the Academy of Fine Arts, where Michelangelo’s David is displayed. The tour ends at Piazzale Michelangelo where you will enjoy the most spectacular view of Florence from across the river. The remainder of the day is yours to explore the city.  Optional journey to the famous Pitti Palace, stroll through the Boboli Gardens or wander through the San Lorenzo market to find anything from regional delicacies to renowned leather goods and gifts to bring home. Overnight in Florence. Day 5: Florence/Rome

Travel towards Rome through the rolling hills and past the gorgeous villas of Tuscany.  Continue through Umbria to the charming town of Assisi for a walking tour of the main square and a visit to the Basilica of St. Francis. Enjoy the views of the Umbrian countryside before continuing to Rome for dinner and overnight. Overnight in Rome. (B & D)


Day 6: Rome

A full day of sightseeing allows you to enjoy all the highlights of the Eternal city. Visit the Vatican Museums and the breathtaking Sistine Chapel.  Walk through Vatican City to St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest Church in the world.  Continue on to visit the Colosseum where Gladiators once fought to the death and ancient Palatine Hill which overlooks the Circus Maximus.  You will be guided through the Imperial Palace, and the Roman Forum which was once the center of daily life in ancient Rome. End the day by walking around the enchanting city looking for a place to try the amazing local Roman cuisine.  Overnight in Rome. (B & L)

Day 7: Rome

Today you have a full day free in spectacular Rome. Your tour director will have suggestions on how to spend your time. You might want to visit some of the wonderful shops, galleries or museums.  Visit Piazza Navona where you can see Bernini’s famous fountain or enjoy a gelato or coffee in a sidewalk café.  Wander through the narrow cobblestone streets to the Trevi Fountain and throw a coin in or visit the ancient Pantheon.  There are plenty of things to do and see depending on your interests. Tonight, a farewell dinner with your fellow travelers will provide a perfect way to celebrate your glimpse of Bella Italia.  Overnight in Rome. (B & D)

Day 8: Rome

After breakfast, the tour ends with transfer to Rome Airport.
